I work primarily in glass and metal, though I enjoy experimenting with other materials too. I'm inspired by nature, peoples' stories and struggles, and the process of making. Recent sculptural projects have been inspired by questions around home, identity, nation and belonging. These ideas have led much of my work into images of cocoons, nests, and other images that questions boundaries between safety/danger, fragility/strength and comfort/fear.
My smaller works in glass are a plea to value aesthetics and the handmade. I hope to enrich peoples’ lives with beautiful and functional objects that delight the eye and remind people of the creativity in human nature.
